Ancient Rome Transportation
The transportation in Ancient Rome was pretty advanced since they had such good engineering department. The Romans built roads everywhere making it much more efficient than other places in the mode of transportation. Since Rome was such a large empire it was hard to get around, but because of all the roads which connected all the cities it was much easier. This network of roads was extremely famous and was called the Roman roads. Also these roads were built of 3 layers, the first layer had huge rocks, the second one had cement, and finally the third layer had nice cut stone that was perfect in size. The Romans also did something that no one had done till date the Romans built a huge bridge over the Timber. Isn’t it crazy how they were so advanced in building a bridge back then. Now getting back to transportation, the Romans had many modes of transportation, of of those modes being the Litter. The litter was mostly owned by only the rich this was because it was expensive and it required 4 or more servants to carry and move at a steady speed. Another mode of transportation being horses. Some people just rode horses and others had chariots that were pulled by horses. Even though there were such good roads and so many modes of transportation most of the people in Rome still had to walk, this was only because of lack of money. Also the Romans had something really interested on their roads to help them get around and it was markings of when the next time was coming. For example 1540 yards away is this city… The Romans were so advanced in many things, but I think that the Romans have influenced our world today a lot in a positive way when it comes to transportation.

Ancient Rome Vs Greece Transportation
One of the main differences between the Greeks and Romans transportation was that in Greece it was harder to get around because of the mountainous terrain and because they didn’t have good roads, but in Rome that was not the case in Rome, because in Ancient Rome they had very advanced roads at the time and also they had many roads that were connected so they could go all around their city and country. Another large difference between the transportation in Ancient Greece and Rome was that the Romans had certain markings around their cities to help people get from one place to another which the Greeks did not have and that was that on the roads of Ancient Rome was that there were markings near the roads, saying how far away another city is etc, that is something that the Greeks did not have when it came to transportation. Although there are lots of differences when it comes to the transportation in Ancient Greece and Rome a similarity is that in both Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome they used horses as a mode of transportation. Another similarity is that both the Greeks and Romans used chariots both on public roads and also as an assistant in warfare. Overall both the Greeks and Romans had quite advanced modes of transportation at the time, but because of facts and more I would say that the Romans had more advanced transportation methods and more, such as roads.
